[it's potentially an accidental text, but it's a picture of a butterfly or a moth, smooth and greenish-blue in color.]

It's called a lunar moth. Isn't it pretty? Apparently the larvae emit clicks as a warning and can also regurgitate intestinal contents to deter predators.

I wonder if it does hurt them? It's a defense mechanism, so I don't think it would do anything that would kill it in order to keep itself from dying. I suppose people have done painful things to evade that before though.

It would work to deter me, at least.

I know some insects make themselves look like other things though. I think it's the lunar mother whose caterpillar stage looks like a snake to deter predators too.

If I recall correctly, ants are very strong despite their short size. if one were to become human-sized, it would be a difficult battle to be sure.

On one hand it's good they aren't so big--I don't think people could resist warring with them. ON the other hand, it would be nice to pet one.
