Sariel GBF wiki link

Once upon a time there was a bunch of beings called the Astrals, who invaded the world known as the Skydom. The Astrals wanted to sort out what the fuck was going on with the world and impose their will and authority on it and its inhabitants, so they made beings called Primal Beasts to do just that, most of which embodied certain concepts such as evolution, the elements, and ideas like the "dusk" of death. Some of the Primal Beasts were forces of nature, some were creatures, some were basically angels.

An Astral called Lucilius was technically a mad scientist who wanted to end the world and the Astrals because he didn't believe that "tyrants" should have order over it, and neither did he believe in god-like will over it, either. He created a few Primal Beasts in the form of fallen angels who he tasked to worth with him to find a way to cause the apocalypse behind everyone's back. Sariel was an angel who was originally made as a living weapon for the Astrals, also called the "Executioner", who was made to eliminate any external threat to them. He was drafted into the fallen angel's cause when the fallen angel Belial encountered him, finding his pure and gentle personality ill-fitting for his terrible role. After an ill-fated revolution by Lucilius' hand, fallen angels and primal beasts like Sariel were locked away in a terrible prison known as Pandaemonium, Many millennia later when Belial finally jumpstarted Lucilius's plan for the apocalypse, Sariel was imbued with a dark core of Lucilius's making, causing him to lose his mind in madness. Belial, later during this conflict, ripped out his wings and with it, the dark core, causing him to regain his prior gentle personality.

Finding out that Belial essentially saved his life, Sariel has been involved in a series of adventures trying to find the "rainbow" - the dimensional rift that Belial is now stuck in - so he can ask the man why he went out of his way to allow him to continue to exist...

Personality answers:

Who in your character's canon influenced the most growth in your character? What do they think about this character?
The character that has greatly affected Sariel and literally changed his life is none other than Belial, the angel of cunning himself. Sariel was essentially nothing but a living weapon for the Astrals, until Belial came along, treated him as his own individual, and recruited him into the fallen angels. For once in his life, Sariel felt like he was seen as more than his role, and became fixated on Belial as the one person who he felt understood him. Even after Belial's supposed betrayal in What Makes the Sky Blue: 000, Sariel learning that Belial's actions technically saved his life was something that brought him to tears as it gave him, for the first time, a desire to live - and made him start a journey to find Belial again and figure out what, exactly, his purpose was. Sariel loves Belial no matter how far away he is, and even with multiple characters telling him about how dangerous the fallen angel is, he bears no ill will for the man who he sees as his savior.

What is your character's biggest ambition at their current canon point? To what lengths would they go to see it to fruition?
As stated above, Sariel is trying to essentially find himself and his reason for existence. He thinks he can accomplish this by finding the "rainbow" - the dimensional rift Belial is trapped in - to ask him why he saved him. He has gone as far as to take a ride on Santa's sleigh (yes, really), traveled through the snow, and took odd jobs here and there to see if he could find any clues as to his whereabouts. Unfortunately, the limiters on his intelligence and his low ability to focus have made this quest difficult, but finding the "rainbow" is the driving factor and his current "purpose" in life.

What does your character think about physical appearances? Are they the sort to meticulously primp themselves, or could they not care less?

Sariel, even with his newfound independence, still more or less carries himself as someone struggling with personal choice and identity. Therefore, he tends to wear clothes that others have given him rather than things he has chosen for himself. In his general appearance, he basically looks exactly the same as he did 2000+ years ago, and if someone asked him if he wanted to change it, he'd be quite confused! He does keep himself clean, but otherwise doesn't seem to even register what he wears more than "something I need to wear for my job/current task".

What would your character say is their best trait? What is truly their best trait?

Sariel would awkwardly say that he doesn't think he has a "best trait". He was commended for his power as the Executioner back in the day under the Astrals, but even he shrugged this off as something he didn't like thinking about when Belial asked him. He really wouldn't have a good answer besides possibly following what others tell him to do, and is self conscious about his intelligence limiters getting in the way of things like learning new concepts or holding good conversation. His actual best trait is his steadfastness in his approach regarding inflicting violence to others, a singular moral that he holds onto as he deeply hates being involved with hurting and killing others. He seems determined to not go down that path if he can help it, and is causes discomfort he doesn't allow himself to push down easily.

Inventory:

1. A black feather - No special properties, but it feels familiar to Sariel. It appeared on his pillow one day, and he is unsure where it came from.
2. Sariel's detective outfit - He wore this helping Detective Barawa with his investigation
3. Scythe - His current weapon. A large weapon imbued with properties to deal fatal damage to primal beasts and immortals. We can maybe just put this under "can make lasting damage to those with self-healing factors".
4. The Mole Troupe flag - a drawn flag by a fellow angel for a theatre troupe they were both a part in. Sariel has good memories of that time.

Powers/Abilities:
- Super strength - Sariel was one of the strongest angels created by the Astrals, fitting for his role as the Executioner. He has been shown in canon to do things easily like wrench open the jaw of a giant shark bare-handed and pull out the people it just ate from its throat without any need for help.
- Immortality - Sariel is able to live forever and ever - he can still be killed (in very specific ways, such as with a "black weapon" imbued with the power of the Avatar), but he will never age and can live for millennia.
- Self-healing factor and pain resistant- like all angels, Sariel can come back from fatal wounds humans would faint at, even having half of his body ripped off. The healing factor isn't fast, but Sariel, while able to be incapacitated, is someone who can shrug through wounds and keep moving forward. His weak spot would be his remaining wing, which, if ripped off properly, would reduce his powers to nil.
- Frightening aura - Sariel's presence was enough to make one of the main primarchs, Raphael, faint from fear, and other creatures (like the shark man in Maydays) have been shown to run away from him when he approached.
- Suppression of his aura - in order to play human, Sariel can suppress his aura and make his wing hide away, which also effectively hides him away from other primal beasts like himself. This does take effort and he cannot keep this up forever - it has been described that an angel/primal beast that hides its aura for long periods of time is equivalent to a person staying awake for the same period.
- Flight - Other angels can fly unheeded with their wings, but Sariel is still regrowing his very slowly - he can fly, but only for very short spurts of time (lets say 15-30 minutes).

Goals:
Sariel is still technically a bit of a blank slate. He has lost his previous role, and is now on a journey to find Belial and a purpose to his existence. He has slowly been learning humanity's ways over time through his interaction with them, and I'd love to see how more influence and relationships could affect him, for better or for worse. Having to also transform into an ant monster is also something of a moral grappling, too, as he identifies heavily with ants and envies their ability to do things without thinking, while this might also raise new challenges if he has to use his newfound form and powers to fight.

Soul Choice:
Arthropoda - specifically ant-themed!
